Removing and installing or replacing
vibration damper (M47TU / M47TU2)
Special tools required:

Important!
A modified vibration damper is installed on cars from model
year 3/2003.
Use tool with 3/4" drive to release central bolt.
On cars with 5-speed transmissions (F-transmissions), there
is no opening on the transmission and the transmission must
be removed in order to secure the crankshaft.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
•
Remove reinforcement plate.
•
Remove fan cowl with radiator blind.
•
Remove A/C compressor drive belt.
•
Remove alternator drive belt.
•
Remove power steering pump drive belt.
•
Detach exhaust system brackets from transmission.
Note:
Vehicles with H-transmissions with cutout.
Secure special tools 11 8 182 / 11 8 183 and 11 8 185 with
supplied screws (1).
Installation:
Adjust special tool 11 8 185 with adjusting sleeve.
