Removing and installing or replacing vacuum
pump (M57)
Remove fan cowl.
Release screws (1).
Remove front acoustic cover (2).
Release clamp (1). Detach vacuum hose from vacuum pump.
Release screws (2).
Remove vacuum pump.
Installation:
Threads of screws (2) are coated with sealing compound.
Replace screws or apply Drei Bond 1209 sealing compound
(sourcing reference: BMW Parts Service).
Installation:
Replace O-ring (1) and apply a thin coat of anti-friction agent.
Align driver (2) of vacuum pump to opening on camshaft gear.
